Finally Home…

I wanted to come back and post beach photos…but I am still trying to get caught up on everything and I have too many favorites to edit….sooooo they will have to wait. 
We had a nice time at the beach last week. Ryan and Drew are still finding sand in most everything that came home with us. I am recovering from the brutal sunburn I sustained THE FIRST DAY there. I hardly EVER burn, but I went with an aerosal can of sunscreen this year and let me tell you, it is not a good idea to try and apply that stuff while standing on a windy beach. The only protection on my skin was the thin line where the aerosal actually made contact with my skin. The rest was toast.
Burnt toast.
So now we are back and almost back to our normal schedule. I am looking forward to my seniors that are coming up over the next few weeks. I am looking forward the fourth of July celebrations that are right around the corner. I am excited to have a Mommy’s Helper that will be coming over a few days a week so that I can edit and work during the daytime hours instead of into the wee hours of the night. There are lots of good things going on right now and I am so thankful for each and every one.
The only thing I am even remotely bummed about is that the cutie below has moved a bit further away and will not be just down the road from me anymore. Her parents are closing on the sale of their house (fingers crossed) this Friday and they will continue to beautify their new digs about 25 miles away. Even though the new house is awesome and HUGE and I could totally fit a fabulous photography studio in their basement…I will miss having them so close.
Eric and miss Abigail stopped by today so that Drew could terrorize her for a couple of hours. Here is a moment between the tears.

She is turning Two…

And we are celebrating tomorrow!
Sweet Abigail. She is my favorite model, just don’t tell Ryan or Drew. I’m not just saying that because I am her aunt, (the coolest aunt ever!) just look at her…..adorable, even WITH the shiner above her eye right there–sustained moments before in a picnic table incident. We are not quite sure what happened, but we are certain it was the fault of the picnic table.
Named after our mom, Abigail is not only one of the biggest blessings in my brother’s life, but in mine as well. I know that mom would be so proud of her grandchildren…and maybe even us a little bit too.
Happy Birthday Abigail–don’t grow up too fast.

Even though the weather is a little drab, we are still having a great Saturday.
Must be all of the chocolate.
No sessions today, but looking forward to working with a baby girl and her sisters tomorrow.

Starr’s Mill Abigail

I packed up the kids and the husband and went to Starr’s Mill over the weekend to meet up with Beth of Beth Miller Photography, and Jeanette of Off the Leash Photography.
We had fun chasing the kids AND the dog (will post her photo next) all around the area. It’s really a pretty place to shoot. I will definitely be keeping it in mind for Senior sessions this spring.
I am looking forward to my newborn session tomorrow with Miss Jaye Anna, will post photos soon after!

Yes, this is a Pillowcase!

I will have to post more photos when we get back into town, but this is the cutest dress ever!
Abigail came over today to model her dress–made out of a pillowcase!–and it is adorable.
This one is the Christmas version, and with the weather we have had for the past few days, it was perfect!
We are headed over the river and through the woods this weekend for Christmas festivities and shall return on Sunday.

No Sucker

I learn something new every single time I do a session. Today’s lesson was “If you are going to give your small model a treat, don’t give her the messy one until AFTER you are done.”
I was worried, but I was assured that the sucker stains came out of the ohsocute kitty jacket Abigail was wearing in this photo.

Even Ladybugs need a snack before they go trick-or-treating.
Abigail was stopping traffic on Halloween….this photo does not do the costume any justice at all.
Too cute.
I am working on the last of the Tigers and Cowgirls photos, and the Northgate show will be delivered this weekend!
We are planning on doing a portrait party at McIntosh Reserve for Christmas card photos. If you are interested in participating, let me know!

Going through some files tonight and found the first photos taken the day I got my 50mm lens. I don’t think anyone could take a bad picture of this girl.
