Thankful…
December 1, 2009
We went to Comer for Thanksgiving, where my uncle Chris is always ready to pull the kids behind any motorized yard equipment. This year we graduated from the wagon behind the lawn mower to the BIG John Deer. I don’t normally admire tractors, but if I did….I would admire this one. Russ tells me she is about 70 years old, but she has been beautifully restored and painted…and I love the sound the engine (motor?) makes. I will have to post the video because I can’t describe it without typing the word “clop” and that’s just weird.
We have been dealing with the “crud” for the past two weeks, even though it feels like months. I am listening to Drew cough through the monitor right now. It seems like everyone has it, I am just hoping we can be rid of IT by Christmas.
Just a few fun snaps of tractor rides, scream contests and little bit of turkey leg eating on the way home, cause that’s just how we roll.

Halloween Fun…
November 8, 2009
What rain? We had a great Halloween! The transfer trailer of kids leaves from our driveway every year which gives me costumed kids to photograph before we leave. I had a blast. These are just a few….the Transformers belong to me. We are certain that in the original Transformer’s script, Optimus Prime had a pacifier…so Drew is perfectly within character to keep his. As you can see, T-Pain and the other rappers whose names escape me at the moment, stopped by and I was thrilled. I still say this would make a great babysitting poster for the girls.
I want to do Halloween again this weekend!

Happy 4th of July!
July 5, 2009
Every year we are fortunate to have some pretty great friends in our neighborhood who don’t find it the least bit stressful to have 100 or so of their friends, neighbors, strangers and whatnot, converge at their residences to celebrate the Red, White, and Blue.
They go all out, from a fireworks show just for the kids (complete with Parachute Men!) to tons of decorations and goody bags for the little ones. When it’s time for the show, you can grab a great seat on the lawn or in one of the many pontoon boats anchored behind the house.
I wasn’t sure if Ryan and Drew were going to make it to Party Time or not since their day had been spent shopping with us and then swimming….but we decided to chance it and head over. As usual, the Wheats and Matthews outdid themselves and the show was great.
Drew fell asleep right at the end, sitting next to the speaker that was the size of my Odyssey in the middle of Sweet Home Alabama.
Thanks again guys, we had a great time!

Happy Heart Day
February 14, 2009
Even though the weather is a little drab, we are still having a great Saturday.
Must be all of the chocolate.
No sessions today, but looking forward to working with a baby girl and her sisters tomorrow.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy New Year
January 3, 2009
Happy New Year. Belated, I know.
Here are my boys on New Year’s Eve, enjoying the fireworks in our driveway. This photo was taken right before the glass vase blew up AND Russ caught the yard on fire.
We went inside after that.
So many exciting things planned for 2009. Santa delivered some new gear and I am really looking forward to testing it out next weekend when the super talented folks from ILP converge in my hometown for an outdoor session near the square.
I can’t wait!
As luck would have it, they are calling for SNOW next weekend.
Hopefully things will turn around by then and we will have a beautiful day to shoot instead.
Hope everyone had a great holiday.
Happy Weekend!
