Softball Season is coming….

I am still sorting through photos this weekend. This was one of the ones I did recently as a Father’s Day gift for a friend. We also did one for her sister too. They were both enlarged to 16×20 and printed on lustre paper. I was really happy with how they looked “up close” and can’t wait to try the next one on metallic paper. From what I have heard, it really makes a sports composite POP.
At least that’s what they say in Texas.

As a mom, I am ashamed to admit that there is only one (1) completed photo album in my house. It’s a photo album that represents roughly the first few months of Ryan’s life.
Ryan will be five (5!) in September.
The album sits on a small round table between two chairs in our living room, where Baby Drew sits down every single day and thoughtfully turns the pages. He loves looking at the photos, probably because he thinks that he is the baby on all of the pages.
I know.
Thank goodness Drew looks exactly like Ryan did when he was a baby, or else he might wonder why his momma is so slack.
It’s not that I don’t HAVE pictures. It’s just that I don’t PRINT pictures.
Now that I am trying to get our photographic history in order via Adobe’s Lightroom, I thought I would take this time to start documenting our lives outside of the computer. I am slowly working my way through 2008 and then once I am caught up, I will work my way back.
What I am loving the most is finding photos that I had forgotten about.

Self Portrait with Ryan

This is us inside the Zebra Mobile during the safari.
It was 100 degrees in that van and we were literally melting.
Russ had to work, so Ryan wanted to take a picture of us to show him when we got home.
After the picture was taken Ryan said “I did my silly face for daddy…..he is going to be SO happy when he sees it!”

From fireworks Friday night to birthday cookie cake and tutu’s on Sunday!
Abigail was the only party-goer that actually wore a tutu, although her momma did manage to get one on Drew for about a second or two!
We had so much fun this weekend. I think I took around 1000 pictures. It will take me some time to process them all….and of course I will post my favorites soon.
It’s the calm before fall sports season starts, so I have plenty of time to play around with my camera and learn some new software!

Abigail’s Turn

I don’t think that this little girl is capable of a bad picture. She is my niece, so I might be a tad biased, but that’s ok!
Looking forward to Friday’s festivities…I will be the one arriving at the party with a festive appetizer AND my camera bag with tripod.
How else am I going to practice shooting fireworks?
